General hospital saved over £16,000 in less than a year using Mediracer NCS
The overall expenses in the healthcare sector have been rising a lot in the last years, but with Mediracer NCS the East Cheshire UK’s Macclesfield district general hospital was able to accumulate total overall saving of £16,850 between September 2009 and June 2010.
The conclusion of study performed in the East Cheshire UK’s Macclesfield district general hospital also shows how waiting time for patients for the NCS reduced from three weeks to one. Waiting time for the carpal tunnel decompression was halved from 12 to 6 weeks. The patients will have less waiting time and they get proper treatment faster.
In the study done by Damjana Derham, D. Harle, R. Bassi, J. Fischer & M. Waseem 141 patients with carpal tunnel syndrome were tested over a 9 month period. All patients were referred from the outpatients clinic at the Orthopedic Unit. Read more about the study here.
